News CALGARY, Alberta. February 26, 2009. WestJet today announced a number of summer schedule enhancements, including non-stop service from Vancouver, Calgary, Edmonton, Toronto and Montreal to select sun destinations in Mexico, the Dominican Republic and Florida. “Our loyal guests asked us to give them the chance to travel to these wonderful places more often, and we responded,” said Bob Cummings, WestJet Executive Vice-President of Guest Experience and Marketing. “This significant increase in WestJet’s year-round presence into Mexico, the Caribbean and Florida is driven by the success of our value proposition. Guests have embraced the fact that they can check a second bag for free, enjoy live seatback TV, and stretch their legs in comfy leather seats, especially on these longer flights to sun destinations.” With a modern fleet of Boeing 737 Next-Generation aircraft, friendly service and high-value WestJet Vacations packages, WestJet is fast becoming the airline of choice with Canadians travelling to popular hot spots, and is well positioned for successful growth in these markets. Highlights from WestJet’s enhanced summer schedule include convenient daytime departures, more non-stop flights and more options for guests across Canada to choose from.
