After a week visit to Mazatlan in July, we went home and decided to buy a condo at Serena Residences.

We arrived in Mazatlan, December 12th to spend the winter and watch our condo be built. We love; the weather, friendly Mexicans, the food, hiking and biking, reasonable cost of living, a large choice of events and activities, good fishing, walks on the beach and gorgeous sunsets.

Most importantly, the personal attention from Jorge, Martha and the entire Portus team at Serena. All questions are answered and input is valued. We have been treated like family.

Just yesterday I had the chance to enjoy a sport fishing trip, met another Serena owner Bill from Vancouver, caught a few grouper and look forward to future trips with the Serena sport fishing members.

Finally, the condos look great, the workmanship excellent and it looks way ahead of schedule. The Marina view is great; the golf course is really shaping up. All of this has made us very excited and grateful to be retiring in Mazatlan and for choosing to be a part of Serena Marina experience. We truly are two gringos in paradise.

My parents and I first met Sergio Castro and Jorge Correa in the summer of '07 while travelling to Mazatlan in search of buying a vacation condo. At that time we visited many projects both along the beach and in the new Marina Mazatlan. At the end of our week search not only did we decide on Serena but we actually bought two condominiums! Surprisingly this decision was made after just seeing an empty dirt lot and almost blind trust in the end product. But after lengthy discussions with both Sergio and Jorge we developed much confidence in their vision of Serena and made the leap of faith.

Now some 15 months later we have just returned from closing on both of our Serena condominiums. When we flew into Mazatlan we were picked up at the airport by Jorge who remained our dependable guide during our time there as Sergio was working diligently on site at Serena. The ensuing days we spent much time with the staff of Serena and reviewed all the major aspects of both Serena and Mazatlan. In general we were greatly impressed with the exterior look and finishing of Serena. In my opinion Serena looks even better than the artists rendering especially along the marina side. The interior of the condo was equally as nice with quality fixtures and finishings throughout. Additionally the view from our deck is fabulous and the "icing on the cake" for us. We visited the project every day of our week stay and kept seeing more positives especially with the garden areas surrounding Serena. Even our last day there Sergio was hard at work directing traffic and ensuring all the landscaping would be up to his standards. We bid farewell to everyone with a smile on our face and left to the airport.

In retrospect I must admit that both my parents and I are pleasantly surprised with the outcome of Serena. We comfortably feel our decision to buy two condos at Serena on just a vision and an artists rendering has been a good one. We already look forward to returning to Serena again especially after our furniture package arrives.Congratulations to Sergio and the staff of Serena for a job well done!

We never thought we would win the Dorado Derby. We just went to go fishing and that was our only goal, but our TEAM REEL LIFE made it happen. My son Christopher hooked the Dorado. He then got Zachary, my other son to reel in the fish and I helped a little. We landed the winning fish. A 27.5 lb Dorado that won the tournament. It was amazing. If I could put it in short, Serena Residences offers 10 Star Accommodations, an exquisite staff and some of the best fishing in the world!
